Hi there - unfortunately my personal experience is that society still expects - in heterosexual 2 parent households that is (an issue in itself that that is still the expectation too!) - the dad to be primary breadwinner and mom primary caregiver. To those of us where roles are different, I would find it helpful to find a community on things that may seem trivial to others but can be tough for this specific group. I am generally uncomfortable when I’m around my mother-in-law’s husband.

While he is overall a decent guy, his anger issues, yelling at his wife for the slightest issue, and insulting nature makes me uncomfortable and triggers my own anger due to his blatant disrespect for just about everyone around him.

I feel like, I've dependend on my partners to validate me in those ways. But that makes me insecure & dependent on them. They loved me but idk if they "wanted/desired" me.

She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night.
