If it's that bad, do it. But take time to make sure you are making a good next step not a desperate one. Don't make it a habit!
If you want to leave early do it in the first three months if possible. Then the story is that the role was not as expected/promised and/or not a good cultural fit. But this should not happen frequently - then it’s a sign you take whatever role you are offered and don’t do the due diligence on your side.
After realizing I was in a very political and disrespectful environment I started looking 4 mos into a new gig. But I was 8 years at the previous one so didn’t worry about choppy resume.
I would say one year. That said, if you leave sooner and only have one of those on your resume I wouldn’t worry about it. As a hiring mgr I would accept the explanation that it was sold as something it wasn’t and you didn’t realize it until you were on the inside.
It’s bad in the sense that it does not align with your career path or it’s something you do not want to continue in. It’s hard to say what is a next good step but it’s something that will be interesting and more in line with past experiences. Thanks @SPM1
No problem! Good luck & hope it gets better soon!
Thanks @ Google and @AD1. If I am to stay, how long is long enough before I can leave without looking like I have this flakiness on my resume ?
