I am seeing too many post about awards like rising star, Kudos, etc. People keep telling there managers recommended them for these awards.
My manager doesn't interact much with us. I consider myself as some one who has worked hard for project and other intiatives. Should I ask my manager to consider me and if yes how should I initiate it.

So my junior lies a lot. About everything. They work hard and are reasonably smart, but they would swear a black pen is red and vice versa. When you catch them out, they keep digging. Just started a new role in industry 2 months ago and my manager sent me a long email today saying he is not happy with my performance and is not at par with my level. He also pointed out list of instances when my submissions were late. Some of the things I agree but not all. Should I reply back or talk about it on our one on one and what to respond. Does anyone else constantly get mistaken for a nurse? I get it, I'm 5'4 and Black and work in pediatrics, but the assumption and casual racism is kind of ridiculous when the actual nurse has just told you that the doctor's coming and then I walk in the door.
