Additional Posts in Job Hunting in Tech
I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.
I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.
Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

You sound like you might be on the younger side as this was the same feeling I had in my younger 20s when I left my first real tech job.
I left for the same reason, it was a smaller company that couldn’t give me what I was looking for, pay and opportunities wise.
As others have hinted at, the company itself will move on, don’t worry about that. Any personal connections you can always keep in contact with outside of work. Those that truly valued you will be happy for you and your career growth.
You get over it by making appropriate compensation and feeling good about that. When your former colleagues are looking for work you help them get into your new company.

I can assure you that company would have zero guilt about letting you go if layoffs came around. It's just business, don't make it personal.
I am a tech in the casino world, I worked as a slot technician for 10 years at a casino, when I got made they didn’t prep me for a manager after opening 3 properties for them I left in December of 18 and became a vendor due to the casino not preparing me for management , worked it for 4 years, quit that because there were no wage increases, promises of promotions(lies) and was just over worked.I kinda felt bad but I left on good terms and didn’t have any regrets( fast forward to 22’ ) I quit the vendor job and got my old job back at the casino I was at ( gotta pay bills) but now I’m back to making top wage, bonuses every quarter, yearly 3-4% raise and a lot less stress now that I have a team to help do projects not just me
Whoa wait, are you quiting without a job lined up?
I would not do that in this market, unless you already accepted another role, then that's the market. Leave on good terms, its highly likely your current role knows you are underpaid.
Loyalty hasn't existed for decades so no one should be surprised, nor should they blame you if you get a huge bump by leaving.
I get paid to read but failed to read here lol.
Rest of post is applicable, just leave on good terms as much as possible. Gotta do what ya gotta do!

The post reads that OP is leaving because they signed an offer from a company who's willing to pay closer to full value.
Do not project the emotion and gratitude that you may have towards this company, I assure you that the feeling is not mutual. Anyone who truly values you as a person will be happy that you are growing your career, and everyone else will forget you before the week is out if you quit on a Friday.
It's not just the people you work with, this is a general life rule. I was laid off from IBM this past December, and I shouldn't have been, but I was shocked at how little outreach and concern I received, in person or on social media.
They don’t care about you that much. They’ll forget about you in no time.
Would you rather be in my position? 5 years with no raise or promotion?
Don't feel too bad. My dad told me years ago that as long as a company was paying me, I owed them a good day's work. Once I stop taking that payment (or they stop paying me), I don't owe them anything. In most cases I think that is pretty much correct.
The only guilt I had was that I was leaving friends I made and I knew I would see them less. But over time, I was able to refer and get hired several of them at my new company. The guilt you are describing though, you need to understand that once you are an employee, the greater company only sees you as a resource. Unless you invented the product, they won't think about you much after you leave, so don't let that bother you.
When I left my first tech job, I had "kicked butt and taken names" in my first two years, it was the middle of the tech boom (late 90s, early 2000s) and I received a COLA raise. At that point, there was no guilt in leaving... made my resume available on a Thursday, went out of town, and by Sunday, had 200 messages on my answering machine (yeah, I'm that old).
The first company that took a chance on me decided to screw me out of my pension. No guilt here.
