Hi everyone, I recently left Deloitte as a Senior Manager and I only have the behavioural interview left for Accenture as SM (I’ve been told that it is organised by the US firm).
Any insights on preparing for this interview and negotiating a sign on bonus would be kindly appreciated (beyond what’s on the web). My salary when I left D was 220 plus bonus. In appreciation I will transfer $100 USD to the best and most upvoted answer as of May 3rd at 1000h EST. Thank you! Accenture Deloitte

If you are over the income limit and do not qualify for free income tax filings for your 2021 tax return, TurboTax is on sale at certain retailers (Sam’s Club, Target, Costco and a few others) during the month of January. The discount is better than getting it directly from turbotax.com. I was able to get the Premier option at Sam’s Club for $55 for five electronic federal filings and one state return.

Assuming your wedding is soon or you at least have an idea of timing in the next few years, HYSA or maybe I-bonds. You want something safe and stable so you don’t lose value. Tough pill to swallow with inflation high but you need to protect money you need in the short term.

The market is always uncertain, and investing in cash (above and beyond your short-term needs for your wedding) is a way to guarantee you don’t get the benefit of the recovery.
0% interest credit cards mixed in with actual savings. First time I’ve ever had debt that wasn’t my student loans but couldn’t have done it without them
Definitely move it to something liquid that you can reach soon such as HYSA. I don’t recommend going into debt or CC for a wedding since it’s something you can control and plan for. If you’re over investing in retirement, possibly slow down contributions if needed while you’re building muscle $$ for the wedding to ensure you have what you need.

It been awhile since our wedding but as soon as I proposed, we planning our own wedding and had a budget. The wedding date was set one year ahead. We saved a lot because we did everything ourselves. My wife had 3 awesome bridesmaid and I had my god-sister (who is in the restaurant business) to help. I took care of the venue, reception, grooms’ suits, videographer, photographer and dinner (for family, bridesmaid and groom’s men). She handled the flowers, cakes, gown, dresses and the guest list. All in all, we spent about $35,000. 175 guest at the wedding and reception (garden wedding) and 55 guest at the dinner (Texas de-Brazil). Some cash and some credit card but paid off all in less than 6 months. We both paid for our own money but as with Asian wedding, we got cash as wedding gifts. Since we told our guest no gifts, only family members gave us gifts of cash. We collected about 5% of the cost of the wedding.
