I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

I once got a freelance gig because the ECD loved my book that was sent to him via my copy partner, who happened to know the ECD. I did a search through my email, and found that I was rejected not once, but twice by that agency’s recruiters. It turned out they never even sent my book to the ECD.
So yeah, keep on applying, or I would just try to contact someone directly at the agency.
It happens ALL the time. Some little 22 year old HR ‘assistant’ weeds through applications and rejects at whim. I know this because I was once a 22 year old HR ‘assistant.’ (Temp job, years ago). This sh*t is real. Bypass the HR people. Go straight to the top dog. Email the ECD directly. Tell them exactly why they need YOU specifically and how you can make their world better. Good luck!
Try reaching out to HR on LinkedIn. It’ll help you stand out and maybe somebody in your network can help as well.
I have done this in the past and it has worked in my favor. What I have learned is that sometimes an agency needs more than one person for a position, and larger agencies have multiple recruiters recruiting. I would apply again. You never know if you land in another recruiter’s lap. I also recommend reaching out to HR on Linkedin. It has helped me get interviews in the past.
Never stop trying.
