I don’t compare myself, my life, or my journey with others. Everyone has their own struggles and triumphs. You really only see a small percentage of people’s lives, so why focus energy making yourself feel down about that when you have a full picture of your own life to shape and mold?
I love this view of life. Thanks for sharing.
First off, I want you to know that your feelings are valid. It's human nature to compare ourselves to others, especially our friends. But here's the thing - everyone's journey is different, and that's what makes life beautiful.
Your dreams are still very much alive. They're just waiting for you to breathe new life into them. Remember, success isn't a race or a competition. It's about personal growth and achieving what matters to you.
Try to shift your perspective a bit. Instead of feeling stuck, see your friend's success as proof that dreams do come true.
It is important to try and focus on yourself and not compare too much. For that milestone hit you have no idea what else is going on with that person. It is hard to see others getting things you want no doubt, but all you can do is focus on yourself on how to get yourself there.
You're so right. 'Everything is not what it seems'
It's easy to conclude that we as people of color couldn't get the same opportunities as others, and it's natural for you to feel that way. But I've learned over time that, at least as of these days, opportunities are the same for everyone. There's pie for everyone :) Keep working hard for yours!
I remember that there’s still so many milestones I’ve hit that others haven’t.
