How do you handle holiday gifting at work? My team does a gift exchange every year, and while it’s fun, I always overthink what to buy—especially for colleagues I’m not super close with. Do you have any go-to gift ideas for coworkers or tips to keep it stress-free (and within budget)?

I just googled or ask AI for trendy gifts under $X amount. You can specify the person’s profile (ie generation, gender, personality, interests etc) you are getting for.

Use some sort of wishlist sharing platform like elfster than invite your coworkers to create their wishlists there. It assigns Secret Santa randomly for each person then you’ll know what they want. Oh remember to set a limit to spend on the gifts and lets everyone know. This year my party did $30. It was fun.

I like to give gift cards to local places. Lets me share recommendations with someone and also support my favorite local spots. So that's what I always do!!

I bake. My team looks forward to the mini loaves of pumpkin or double chocolate zucchini bread I make every year. I can make a dozen in one batch, wrap up in cute cello bags and done! Costs less than $20, but more popular with my team than a gc. Though, they’ve gotten so popular I now have to make two loaves for everyone…one for them and the other for their spouse/kids ;-).

I’m married, and one of my coworkers flirts with me. Nothing super overt, but definitely not professional. I have issues “delegating” or simply assigning tasks, which as a Manager is a whole thing. I have a direct report who is smart, passionate about her job and can be really innovative. However she carries this enormous weight of responsibility, for needing to do everything, do it right, make sure it's perfect, not trusting colleagues to help. It creates dread and panic and overwhelming workload and a terrible attitude for her and I am speaking with her this week to start to shift her mindset. Any tips in navigating how to let go of this heavy idea of "responsibility"?
