I know this has been discussed but can’t find exactly what I’m after... How much is too much money to negotiate? Negotiate for more money and more PTO or just one. Both are low, especially the PTO

First - thank you so much to this amazing group for all the encouragement and advice! I now potentially have 2 offers (both verbal) at this time. Both amazing companies. I have 2 questions:
1. I have a month's vacation planned for end of this year. I didn't mention it during the interview process (it was not intentional). Should I mention this to the recruiter when they come to me with the initial offer?
2. Some tips for salary negotiations please?

I’m up for promotion this year, and I’ve been working so hard and my feedback is amazing and I’ve wanted this for awhile. Now, an immediate relative is actively dying and I may go out on a short leave, and I also have some PTO planned so that I can visit family oversees later this fall. With all that’s happening, I’m not going to hit my 90% utilization target, which is a checkbox in my promo. (cont).

So design managers in the product space, can you give me the good and bad?

Has your firm gone woke? My leadership is consumed by virtue signaling and social justice to the point where nothing else (even our business) seems to matter. More importantly, they seem oblivious to the fact that not everyone shares their woke sensibilities and they’ve said some highly divisive and offensive things. There is no vehicle for dissent. Thinking of leaving a firm I’ve dedicated my life to as a result. It’s a sad realization.

Looking at fee increases for 2021 tax compliance and probably going for 10% increase with most clients to account for increases to wage levels this year. I’m expecting to negotiate down to 5-8% on some clients. With producer price index at 8.6% I’m hoping to successfully sell clients on the reality of higher fees. Those that want to fire me over fees I feel ok losing clients with decreasing profitability that can be replaced within a year. What kind of increase are you pursuing?

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is enjoying their audit/tax season. I’m going into my 4th year as an audit partner. Let’s say the firm is in the top 5-10 range. Comp is $365k (draw plus distributions). Haven’t had comp discussions this year, but historically, it’s been 50-60k increases YOY. I’m sure this is under Big 4 salary levels, but for any National accounting firm partners, wanted to get thoughts. Thanks!

Anyone else tired of the assumption that because you’re a partner you have to think a certain way and believe certain things. I’m talking about wokeness, work from home, and the recent ever constant pushing of the needle to the left or risk getting “cancelled”. I’m fairly liberal politically so for me to be saying this I think may say something for the current climate. I should be able to hold and express my own opinions without being quashed because I’m not “woke” enough.

If the average pay for Big 4 partners (I’m in regional firm) is 1.3 million annually, why do I see Big 4 partners living in such modest houses. I am having a hard time believing that Big 4 partners really make that much.
