Hi. I'm a final year btech student, and I recently got an offer from PwC India for the post of Sr. Analyst, with the package of 4.5lpa fixed + some yearly performance bonus. How should I expect me to be my career graph in pwc? Promotions, work culture, work life balance, basically any kind of insight will be appreciated.
THANKS A TON, IN ADVANCE.

What function are you in? For consulting, you'll have an option to set up a call during comp time (late August / early September). Otherwise, I'd email HR and work through them.
Also, not really a manager discussion... ppd level discussion
FWIW, I'm like 99% convinced PPDs are given specific coaching on how to handle this conversations, and they will OWN you if you don't come extremely prepared.
Outlook -> calendar -> new meeting
Your Manager can't help you, you will have to go through your service line leader. I hope you have a very good business case--track record (i.e. Multiple years) of top performance, significantly below your peers, and strong reputation within your service line. If you can offer more context (i.e. Your level and tenure and ratings) I can probably tell you if asking is going to be worth it or even make you look ignorant/dumb.
Agree with MT-1, need more context. My gut reaction is if you're below Manager level in S&O, probably not worth your time unless you have a very unique situation. RSSL or SSL is also a good suggestion.
I submitted a request for compensation discussion last year after turning down a 30% industry raise and got an automated reply saying they've passed on my info to the person who should be reaching out to me to set up a time and that they've closed the ticket. No meeting invite ever came...
Thank you both. Is it worth discussing with Manager before bringing it up to PPD?
Your counselor may be able to give you some "coaching" on how to approach the discussion.
That's on the PPD who was assigned to you
Brought this up with my SM last week and it backfired. As long as you know that they'll vouch for your good work when asked, I would not involve them. This has been one of the most useful threads ever, thank you!
D5, can you please elaborate on how it backfired? My initial thought was to discuss directly with the PPD who offered to have a candid compensation conversation with any team member. But I wasn't sure if my direct supervisor should first be aware.
SM don't deal with comp. the ppd who leads you group does... SLL and similar
It's PPD decision not Manager level ask for a conversation about compensation, it will be very noncommittal and not much will come out of it.
This is a card you can play once. You should be strategic about at what point in your career you ask. I once had an analyst ask me if they should ask for a comp adjustment when they switched service areas because one group came in about 5k higher. Don't waste your ask for single digits.
Sure, well, he flat out told me that I should get used to getting paid less for the same work as my co-workers who have far less of the credentials that I have. Frankly, I'm feeling my way through the dark on this one, but 1. I get the sense that the PPDs are the ones who pull the levers on these decisions so sales 101 always get to the decision maker and 2. It is kind of irrelevant to your manager. Talent and project work are very separate within Deloitte. I see where you are coming from with not wanting to seem like you are going above your manager's head so I def recommend that you sort out those politics, but your manager will likely have very little info on how to actually go about this. I've discussed my comp with both of my SMs before and both were clueless about it
