Is around Labor Day a good time to go?
Fairmont Lake Louis is one of my favorite properties in North America.
Cool! Keep the tips coming everyone and see you there EY?
Fairmont Lake Louise is absolutely incredible. It's probably the best weekend trip you can do (and even better for a week!).
As others have said Fairmont is great. If you have time, consider driving up to Jasper for a couple days too.
Thanks for asking OP, I will be in Banff next weekend!

It's incredible! I would have loved to stay at the fairmont properties but they were just too expensive so I visited both for meals. I stayed at the Moose Lodge in Banff town which was a nice compromise. I believe there's a Delta property which is now owned by Marriott. I went just after Canadian Thanksgiving which was a bit late in the season as certain hikes had been shut down due to snow.
Anyone have hiking recommendations for Banff?
The fairmont and do the brunch take a hike and buy ammonites
Spent a week there last year; one of the best vacations in a long time (and being in consulting for 10+ years in the US and Europe, I have been to a LOT of places); we stayed in Canmore just outside the park; very convenient and away from the chaos but close enough; go to Lake Louise, Lake Moraine, Athabasca Glacier and of course spend time hiking. Have fun!
Thanks everyone! Also thinking about Labor Day weekend @Mck1
Agree w D3; we had afternoon tea there - one of the best days of the trip!
Labor Day would be a great time of year for a trip
Take the Banff gondola. You can do a hike up there too.
