Hi, I need a referral for an internship
in Financial Advisory Team
Valuation, M&A, FDD, or Financial
Consulting - at Big 4 in Germany,
can anyone help me?
I did my bachelor's degree at the
University of Mannheim.
I would appreciate any kind of
support and advice.
I'm not above reaching out to alumni
directly via Linkedln, but l'd prefer to
bug as few as possible. So if you
want to help, guide, or mentor,
please pm me.

Depends on your relationship really. If it is formal, it can go south - and the worst is they know you’re ambitious. I hardly doubt you’ll be let go as it is expensive and risky to train replacements.
If you are close / they are a decent person - seek them out as a mentor (and advocate). Tell them you will buy them lunch for career advice and out of that conversation ask if they would consider it. It might even happen that company considers sponsoring you.
I would say, retain the relationship after you separate irrespective. Meet up twice a year, wish them on their birthday and it’ll open doors.
It definitely depends on your relationship and whether or not they are a good manager.
A good manager knows that by supporting your growth they are increasing the chances of you staying on with the company.
Frame the request as an investment in yourself that the firm could possibly benefit from post graduation.
