If someone puts IQ on a resume, is there any scenario where they end up being great consultant? Generally curious cause that was a deal breaker for me, wondering if I made a mistake as hiring manager
I have close to 9 years of experience with technology consulting across India and the US with Deloitte US( I was hired at the india offices of Deloitte US). I have been admitted to Ivey business school for 2023 batch. Post MBA, I want to make a move to management consulting as that was one of the biggest driving factor for me to purse an MBA. From my research I gathered that getting into MBB is extremely difficult due to very few openings. What can I do to boost my chances of getting into MBB?
Does it feel like basically our only exit op is operations work to anyone else? I’ve been interviewing for 6+ months now and these are the roles I’m getting steered toward. I want to stay far away from ops & risk tho so I keep turning them down cuz it’s just so damn boring
Does anybody have a view on the Associate, Content Strategy role at Netflix? Number of rounds? What is the nature of work? Culture? This is in APAC.
I've been following posts on people's reactions to India and Indians on this blog. I'm of Indian descent and raised in the West. Do I have a risk of being stereotyped as "Indian" if I try to join B4?
Looking to switch into industry. Anyone make the transition to an engineering program manager role?
Moving from a boutique (<30 employees, MBB competitor) to the strategy practice of a Big 4. Have only worked for boutiques in the past, so I’m expecting there to be some major differences in terms of working style. What are the major differences and ‘watch outs’ you would point out to me? Could be anything from culture, to red tape, to compliance etc.
Expecting 2nd B4 offer this week, is there anything else you can negotiate besides base salary and signing bonus?
Started in industry two weeks ago. No timesheets, 40 hour work weeks, and 30% more than what I was making previously. We use all B4 for everything, so it’s just managing their work and budgeting. I feel like I have hit the jackpot. Moral of the post: there is none, I just want to brag about how happy I am now 😂
My i140 is a position for manager. EY won’t file the i485 till I become a manager. Can I file the i485 by myself when the i140 is approved and I am still not promoted to manager yet?
Walking out in a few days. 2 quick points that make me take up non consulting role. First - Big project team and I am a late entrant to the team so chances of promo to M next year doesn’t seem possible. Second - 20% hike without moving out of town. Go ?
Hi. Recently have got an offer from CGI. I have heard a lot of good things about this organisation. I am dropping my joining to one of the Big 4 to join here. Is it worth it? Please comment folks.
Had a phone screen with BCG recruiter today. As a current Big 4 manager with a specific industry and function focus for ~7 years, when asked if I prefer Generalist or Expert track, I said I’m ok with either, because I love selling (Generalist) but I’m also very interested in continuing my existing focus (Expert). She said she can mark me down for both. What are everyone’s thoughts on not necessarily having a firm one-or-the-other answer?
McCann NY is hiring a bunch of account peeps right now. Check their site. There's been a lot of new business wins lately.
Hello, I am actively searching for full-time / continuous contract roles within the Digital or Creative Studio for a creative brand. Anything within Media, Fashion, Entertainment, Art, etc. I am currently freelancing as a Social Coordinator, and I am looking to pivot into Creative Direction, where I can create concepts and initiatives for digital platforms, marketing, and etc. I am based in NYC. Please if you have any openings, or know if any please comment or leave me a message.
Has anyone jumped from Big 4 Advisory to Tier 1 Consulting firms (e.g. MBB). Was the jump at the same, higher or lower level?
Fellow IT Consultants. I am a BA on System implementations and would like to learn AWS. Can someone help me get started? How about the certification for administrator ? Cont..
Sr. Cyber security Consultant with 6 years consulting experience primarily in conducting assessments on cloud, soc and compliance (CMA, regulatory). Need help in identifying roles in industry.
What are peoples experiences and thoughts on requesting to work remote every Fri? It was healthy for me having this in consulting... Seeing if I can ‘secure’ this before accepting a StratOps offer...
Who in DFW Amex Centurion right now?
EY - are tennis rackets and tennis lessons permissible under our $500 fitness reimbursement program?
Anyone familiar with the Google Sales Engineer, role? Thoughts on the TC (East Coast) and interview process?
What’s a reasonable answer when a small, independent agency asks what your desired salary is? Info on Glassdoor is limited given they’re all smaller. For context, I’m a junior with just a little over a year of experience so v green. Thanks!
EY fish: cyber role: TAS Manager - Operational Transaction Services - M&A. Can you please share background on what’s the group like? Expectations for the role? Max salary for manager in that group?
Ambassador Elite Status - worth it? I had it years ago but never really used it. And how/when does the intro happen?
Unpopular opinion: consulting is not any more challenging nor does it generate more experience than working in a demanding/high-profile role at a large company or startup. As someone who’s been in all three, I don’t see how people can argue consulting YOE > operating YOE. In fact, I could easily argue the opposite. What do y’all think (I’m expecting serious hate lol)
Is it possible to lateral firms at the one year post MBA mark? Its a long way away but interested in trying for MBB again, not sure if they are open to that.
I work as a quant/associate at a large (>300 billion aum) long only mutual fund. Ive been here for about a year, but seeing how crazy the job market is, I’m wondering if I should put feelers out again. I like my coworkers and I work good hours. I get 110k as base, and got a 10k sign-on bonus. They said min bonus is 15k, but I’m not sure what the range is as I haven’t been around for a bonus cycle. This in a HCOL city. I also get 30% match in my retirement accounts. I have ~2 YOE. Thoughts?
Does anyone on here have experience from before the mid 1990s? Would really enjoy a super detailed long description of the way accounting/auditing used to be. Systems, processes, culture, office env..
