How hard is the work going to be coming into risk advisory from external audit? Any tips on how to adjust to the learning curve?

Did this a year ago. It’s actually really valuable to have audit experience so leverage that if you can. The approach is different so understand how advisory has more freedom than audit.

Not hard - I did it and everything including learning the guidance is easy. Common sense. Especially if you have a CPA.

Not difficult at all.

The basic technical skills are transferable. The only part to learn is how to go deeper in Advisory as against Audit. Also, getting information out of clients is a skill that needs to be learnt. In Audit, usually what you need from client is straight forward and therefore both you and clients are comfortable - Advisory is more dynamic.

It's not hard, you'll be fine. It's all about risk appetite and reasonable assurance.

like

Literally so easy. But I’m not sure if risk advisory is hiring as much in the past

Really? Feels like it’s the largest practice in advisory that hires. Everything is slowing down but compared to everything else? Major labor crunch for IT Audit

As an associate will be easy. At manager and above can be tricky as you need to learn to sell

New York folks:
Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.

Went in to check compare sizes for an Aqua Terra (green dial) but now torn between that and Moonwatch Sapphire (manual wind but the case in the back is just 😍)

Surprisingly the Moonwatch felt smaller (even though it’s 42mm vs 41mm Aqua terra) but I’m not sure about the manual wind tbh - worried I’d break it

This is going to be my main watch for the next 20+ years so I want to make sure I pick correctly!

What would you pick and why?
