Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

Selling 2 tickets to SIX, the musical for Wed, 05/25 at 7:30 pm. Great seats in Row C of Dress Circle Center. Had to go out of town for work and can’t make the show.
Originally paid $116 each (including taxes and fees). Willing to sell both for $200 or the best offer.

A BCG recruiter ghosted me after she reached out to schedule an interview. How long should I wait before following up? What is the common courtesy to give to ppl at BCG. I don’t wanna come off as too aggressive but I really need to get this interview set as there are other pending confirmations Boston Consulting Group

Coach
You don't have a life Monday morning - Friday evening, but you get the weekend to yourself usually.
EMEA members have to attend US calls and it’s not great to be on calls after 6pm going late into the night.
So I’ve been chatting with some McK folks in my network (one partner and one specialist) and have been asking a lot about this.
They both say the 70-80 hr/wks are overblown and a stupid weird flex. They both say teams tend to average around 55-60 hrs a week.
What that specifically looks like heavily depends on your team and how you all structure the working schedule. That said, it’s generally Monday through Thursday are client days and Fridays are internal/team days and typically lighter (as in 8 hrs). Monday through Thursday is generally 8-6 then personal/family time followed by a couple more hrs of independent work.
They’ve both said that the after the disconnect each day, there’s the expectation that any remaining work is individual (so no team meetings or interaction). Also, both have heavily stressed that weekends are sacred and pretty much never work a weekend at all.
Before other McK folks jump in to say I’m wrong, just know that these are two people’s experience and YMMV. They stressed that above all, you set your own parameters (within reason) when it comes to WLB.
Hope this helps.
YMMV true, but these two responses are very rare. And this makes me hate myself but I've falsely given those kinds of numbers out on informational calls before, in an attempt to recruit talent. The vast majority of us, in my experience, work more like 70+ hours a week.
What time zones are your recruiters and interviewers in?
Thank you for your answers and for not making fun of my phone autocorrect 'exciting.' I wrote this question late at night.
Anyone from McK SEA region can comment on this?
Say good bye to your weekends
