Someone coined the term “EY Senior manager purgatory”

4-8

Agree with this for general guideline. 4 is pretty rare though. Would put the interquartile at 6-8.

Different for everyone. Fasted I’ve seen is 3 yrs

like

I’ve seen the same. It depends on your office and your relationship with those above you.

I have seen someone in an audit: 3 years SM, 1.75-year Director (SM 4 level), and now an Equity Partner.

I have seen others being an SM for like eight years now.

It depends on—a mix of politics, connections and business/skills brought to the firm.

There was an SM in my tax sub service line that took 12 years to get to MD 🫣

😳

I’ve heard that they will let you know within a couple of years if you even would be considered for partner though. Seems like they know pretty fast who will make it to the show. Is that true?

No

likefunny

4-8 is typical at KPMG. I’ve seen a decent number of partners in tax that made MD in year 10-12 and then partner in year 12-16.

Anyone hiring those who have been out of work for a year? I took time off to tend to personal matters, but I am now looking to get back into the workforce again. My previous experience includes time at B4 audit up to senior level and then transitioned to manager in industry. Senior/manager roles are preferred.

I don’t mind audit. However, I’d prefer it not to be at a B4, as I am looking for some semblance of a work life balance.

DM me if you have something above, thanks.
