A BCG recruiter ghosted me after she reached out to schedule an interview. How long should I wait before following up? What is the common courtesy to give to ppl at BCG. I don’t wanna come off as too aggressive but I really need to get this interview set as there are other pending confirmations Boston Consulting Group

I’ve worked across Big 4, boutique, and now BCG, and I’d never want a big 4 team running an implementation if I was a client, IMO their approach is throwing a ton of bodies at projects which leads to an insane amount of PMO overhead and slowing down actual work
exactly McK and BCG are maturing as tech players now and the next 5 - 10 years will see an explosion of cases where McK AA, Gamma have unlocked millions of dollars in value
Digital work is another story - the B4/Acc approach there could work
They're not.
The only ones who disagree with this are those at MBB themselves. You can read between the lines.
Is it actually better though? The consensus is that when it comes to tech big 4/Acc are the actual market leaders
have to disagree there. McK is killing it in data science. Digital work yes its better Big 4 + A is better(armies working for years on end)
Depends McK (and perhaps BCG) are much better in general for digital work that I view as more interesting and innovative (digital strategy and digital business building) compared to big 4 and Accenture (who are better for multi-year long implementation projects such as ERP implementation and IT systems integration). The former is probably more relevant for tech PM.
I was recruited with 3 yoe and no mba
No absolutely not. I’m not even a technologist and this is an easy answer.
And you want to be a tech PM and you want to come to MBB to get there?! 😬🤦♂️
So would we need an mba to transfer from big 4 to MBB if say wanted to learn about strategy and eventually end up in PM?
I was tech big 4 now McK and would say the type of work is different so hard to compare directly. Pay is better and work is more interesting now for my personal area
Sure!
