As someone who climbed from small nothing companies through mid tier to larger orgs over my career, I have had a lot more options with larger brands on my resume. With small logos I always had to justify my existence and worth to recruiters

OP, the jump from small to medium was a combination of luck and hard work. I tried for a long time to break out and submitted tons of applications (probably a couple hundred). Eventually there was a hiring manager who I clicked with/had personal similarities with and that lucky coincidence is what got my foot in the door.
The jump from medium to large was easier but still not fun. I got more interviews at larger/higher paying orgs and eventually got two offers simultaneously and accepted one.
Once at a large org, especially in the 2021 economy, I was beating recruiters off with a stick. Eventually I caved and came to EY.
Brand definitely helps you pivot to prestigious roles down the line, as long as the roles are comparable.
This is probably a bad example - but don’t go for a basic data crunching role at Microsoft compared to a ML data science role at smaller firm.

Gotcha, thanks for the answer. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like that’s common in tech implementation consulting, unless it’s just my firm. I see big 4 firms do have Microsoft consulting practices but I’m not sure if their MS consulting practice follows the same hierarchy model as the traditional strategy consulting where you can make partner
