Max $1500 per program/year. Must have a business case though.
This is definitely at the high end, but my work will cover up to $7k / year. Program has to be work-related and pre-approved by management. Priority is for programs within Ontario, where we are based. Reimbursement is paid 50% up front, and 50% on course completion.
Our org places a high priority on professional development. It's expected that people will pursue ongoing education, whether through online certificates, weekend seminars, or traditional academic programs.
The assumption is that all work is done outside of work hours.
By pre-approved, I just mean you have to submit a requisition form prior to enrollment, for approval. It's not like there is a list of pre-approved programs.
This is in the pension industry.
Ours doesn't specify a limit but there has to be a benefit to the business and needs to be approved by your manager. It's a double-edged sword depending on available budget; they covered a program that was 7K over two years for me, but other years there have been no funds available. Our company will make you sign an agreement that if you leave within a certain number of months after the education ends, you'll be responsible for a pro-rated portion of the costs.
Cover most professional exams/licensing up to 3K a year. It can be higher for roles that literally require passing exams.
5% of salary per year. Needs approval
Woah that's a lot@
