What is this “savings”?
I don't make a boatload of money, but the secret to saving (as long as you don't have children or excessive debt) is you need to have self-control and not live alone. The only thing I actually spend decent money on is groceries. My house has a dual income, so I just focus on being as frugal as possible. Every 2 months, I move anywhere from $1000-$1200 into my savings (this is in addition to my 401k). I will admit I am very thrifty and I work from home so I don't use much gas and don't eat out during the week.
I live alone and save money.
I just had the sense God gave a goose not to have kids and buy a reasonably priced condo.
I try to put at least $2k per paycheck ($4k per month) to savings/investments.
12K pretax?
Does 401k count
They say divvy up your salary like this:
* 30% on wants (fun stuff you could live without but make life enjoyable)
* 50% on needs (rent, mortgage, food, insurance, etc)
*20% on future (investments, savings)
$3k per month - I live at home
I’m currently putting $400/month into a savings account, but next month, that will go up to $1000 per month.
That is above and beyond the roughly $1000 per month I put in my 401(k), the max I put into my Roth IRA and the max that I put into my HSA.
So if you also include those accounts, I save about $2400 per month, going up to $3000 per month in May.
I had some bills I needed to take care of, then I could boost my savings.
I have 6 months of expenses saved up in my emergency fund, but trying to get that up to 12 months of expenses, just in case…
About $2500/mo.
1/3
I’m saving/investing 25% each month.
This is consistent with what I did as a Manager.
Before that, only 6% in a 401k.
Zero. I have children. Intentionally boosting inflation and making family life unaffordable is a method of globalists who want to reduce human population without us noticing. And yes: the American administration is doing it to the dollar, intentionally.
Don’t hurt yourself with that stretch—“you believe in God and that’s clearly why money is tight”. ROFL. I honestly can’t imagine hating myself and others so much that it sounds like human extinction is an all around plus. And talk about licking elite boot and butt kissing politicians—you really think the economy isn’t used to accomplish their stated goals of destroying functional families and reducing population? Maybe you do recognize it: and support it? Creepy dark. Don’t be like FA1.
when i do freelance i save 50% without noticing it, on labour contract i save 0%.
i really cannot figure it out how to live on salaries which they pay you on labour contracts
