Hi Fishes, Y.O.E 7.5+ years. Tata Consultancy TCS is offering 25LPA including variable pay and everything. So just 15% increment on my current salary since they mentioned I am leaving my current organization within 1 year.
They mentioned 8-12% is VP plus 80k from that salary is paid at the end of each year. Is it a good enough salary for 7.5+ yoe candidate. Also any heads up for the things I should look out for will be really helpful.

You're trying to future proof your decisions which is valid but stressful. Life itself isn't future proof / guaranteed so why not just do some basic planning and deal with the rest as it comes?
That's what my therapist tells me btw
Yes, you’re a skilled professional. I don’t think that anyone with skills AND determination will struggle to stand up from a layoff even in the midst of a recession
Tbh jobs with high growth potential are also the ones most prone to be layed off in a downturn.
They don't talk about recession proofing likely because the additional income helps prepare them for such. Save some money to get you through a year (screw three months), comfortably. Then you likely won't be as stressed.
Honestly I feel the same way sometimes, but I know I would find something, somewhere, to get by. I've been laid off before (coming from industry) and it's easy to get bogged down in that hopelessness. And every time, with me, my SO, my friends, within a month or two bam they're back in it and in a better spot than they were.
I was laid off in industry and joined Accenture at the height of early Covid panic with a 30% bump and 15% signing bonus. My SO has a similar story and now also makes more, for a better company.
The only people ever really protected are elevator repair people and electricians. Bartenders used to be on that list...but...uh...yeah.....

@c1 but then youd have to be an auditor :/
I'd say a role in pharma companies or hospitals would majorly be recession proof
What about financial institutions? Banks etc?
