It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision. After working 5+ years and letting life happen, I ended up back with a staff title (no career/group change). Everyone said I was doing well throughout my career. But most of peers are now managers, senior managers, directors, controllers, etc. I really don’t want to compare, but how do I deal with this so it doesn’t bother me? My small company was bought out by a corporation. During the acquisition process, the new HR team wants to demote my title from “manager” to “specialist” due to their company requirements. I declined the offer and they changed the offer to grandfather my title in but are still evaluating my salary based on a specialist role. My supervisor (a VP) and our President disagree with this choice but are making no headway with the new HR team. What can we do?
