I've been contacted by a recruiter from PwC about roles in their new "PwC Cloud Practice".
Does anyone have any info on this new practice and how it differs to mainline PwC?
I know a lot of Management Consultancies set up their Tech Subsidiaries like a poor relative with sub par expenses and compensation policies etc. Don't know if this is the case here?

OP only 6 years of public and I feel the same way. I want my kids to not worry whether or not I'll be there for their birthday. Tired of trying to impress people who mean less to me than my family. Just found a gig that pays more and works less. Put in my two weeks and looking forward to the freedom and stability my family needs.
Congrats! My SO used to work in public. The years of life after retirement Seem awful. Plus if they’re putting me on the long track to make partner, it seems even more so not worth it. And we both agree that “normal” people do not need as much money as partners make and most partners sacrifice being quality parents to make money.
Reading this post has got me thinking. This could be me in 10 years. I’m sacrificing every good thing in my life for this job, hoping that one day I’ll make partner, and it’ll all be worth it. It won’t be. Nobody cares how hard I’m working , it really is a thankless job. It’s time to move on and get my life and sanity back.
I am done working an extra year of work every three years. I have money in the bank and just need to add 20k a year to be able to retire with a great life when it’s time. I want my kid to know me as a parent rather than many hired hands to cover while I’m trying to make more money than we need
Good job! Kids need to know their parent, for sure. I think so many kids grow up with issues from not having their parents around in some way. I’m already thinking about this and my kid isn’t even born yet.
I’m sorry OP. I’m sure there is a better path for you out there, you will find it. 🤞
Join the club! Enjoy the summer ⛱
By the way, y’all, the number of people I’ve seen “ride the wave” who still aren’t fired lead me to believe if I keep my mouth shut and let them think I’m still trying, I can keep my salary for more than a year. It’s just a mind game I have to play in myself to not care but make them think I do
How do you do this and still get jobs done without working 60 hours?
OP: I’d say it more strongly. No way to be a partner and a good parent. That’s why most outsourced the role to nannies, au pairs, etc. I think you are making the right decision
Yep that was the point.
I feel ya OP. I'm so far beyond the breaking point..
OP - come work with me.

Good for you!!! Make the firm pay your dues.
I’m on the same boat. 10 years in and a small child at home. Looking for new jobs that don’t require around the clock responses/attention
Can I ask more about your situation? Trying to gauge the likelihood I end up in the same boat...
What rank did you make it to? Current base salary? Book of business? Service line?
Small or large market? To be fair, 3 years at SM isn’t a long time to be in the role
It’s really only worth it if you value money above all else. I don’t!
Sorry to hear this. What’s your service line?
