I am in the reserves and i have a wife and child. I dont make much money off of my job on the civilian side. A correctional officer. What should i do to try and get a higher paying job?

My current package is 10.6 with 7.5 years of experience, got an offer of 17.8 ( 14 fixed , 3.8 variable ).Should I look for other offer ?
