Chase sapphire and Hyatt CC is a good combo / transfer setup…agreed on the Hyatt point value redemption. Why do you need to add Amex?
I’d check out the Amazon prime card from chase. No sign up bonus but 5% back on all Amazon purchases and no annual fee if you are a prime member. Just got it within the last year and am getting a ton of value from it (we get groceries from Whole Foods and tons of deliveries from Amazon so quickly becoming one of my best rewards cards).
It depends on what you want to use points towards. AMEX is great for flights (I’d also sign up for the corporate MR offer, $55 a year and 1X on all purchases) and those can stack nicely if you use the gold for dining and groceries.
My setup is:
Amex gold - dining and groceries (4x)
CSR - all travel related purchases (incl. Lyft)
Hyatt personal - all hotel stays (4x) + gym (2X, better than other cards out there)
Freedom Flex / CFU - 5X quarterly categories as applicable, 1.5X on CFU for any miscellaneous purchases
Yes their credits are tedious. Yes love when they do those specials. Thank you!
If you live near a delta hub, the Amex Delta is worth having, but if not, I think what you have is good. I’ve found regular amex for air travel isn’t the best redemption.
Interesting. I'm loyal to AA but amex has better international airlines for point transfer so was looking into it for that. They def aren't the best for hotel rooms either.
