My wife is incredibly stressed out and unhappy in her career. It’s been affecting our marriage significantly. I just had a conversation with her where I asked her to stay home and I said I’ll fully support her. It seems like she took it well.

Last year I told my class about my partner and it was the best decision ever made. My admins, students, and parents were supportive and had no affect at all. I can’t wait to share my loved ones each year and how I joined a Varsity Gay League Kickball team as well. I even have parents interested in creating a team. Do friends ever dump you onto your therapist or psychiatrist or dismiss your valid, normal feelings as “oh did you tell your doctor about this?” I feel like they’re just shitty friends delegating off.

Really trying not to spiral, and my practice group leader has been openly hostile to and dismissive of me lately. I haven’t mentioned my depression/anxiety to him because we’re not exactly getting along swimmingly, but I don’t know who else to talk to about my MH. Fighting with my wife hasn’t helped either. Salam. 23M here - all my life I’ve had my back on our faith - never really prayed but had imaan (I guess). After bouts of depression from girl problems (🙄), issues within immediate family, being disappointed expectations I had for myself, etc. I’ve been working on bettering my situation over the years. What other professions have teachers left to pursue? I feel lost and confused figuring out what comes next/how to find jobs outside education.

I finally did it. I quit and turned in my resignation in June. I’m now have been working from home for United Health Care. I wished I would have done this years ago. I started teaching right out of college 20 years ago and thought all jobs were as bad as teaching I was so wrong. My new job is not stressful I now have a normal life and look forward to going to work.

I want out so badly, but I’m not having success finding a new job. I used to live my job, now all the pressures have built up. I’m tired of working for hours after work and on weekends.

I have become frustrated with the profession (no discipline, labeling every student for something, students not prepared for grade level content, parents who don't really parent). Anyone with me?
