529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.

I might have a spending problem. I don’t think (?) I have a full blown addiction, but I’m cleaning out my closet and finding stuff that is few years old, still with the tags on, and lots of duplicates. I get a dopamine hit when I find a good deal and I’m wondering if it’s going too far. I can pay my bills, but I’m wasting a lot of $$ on things I don’t need. I'm new to this post and thank those that are willing to share. My son and husband are dyslexic but it took many years of private tutoring and then Dr. Bruno's "OG" assessment and program that allowed our son to move forward. I am now a supportive teacher working with HS students that have struggled throughout their education with a reading deficit and a district unwilling to really provide intensive interventions that addressed dyslexia. I just completed my EdD and am focusing on dyslexia!

Girlfriend has very obvious high functioning anxiety and body image issues that she admits but thinks she doesn’t need therapy or medication and that reading self-help books will help her.
