I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Do you have someone (who is a strong account / client manager) actively mentoring and/or managing you so you can learn from their example? You shouldn’t be thrown in the deep end without a life raft at this point yet.
I can see my team being disappointed with me when I make these mistakes. I’m trying. I don’t make the same mistakes twice, but I seem to make new mistakes daily. I’m learning, but it’s mentally exhausting and emotionally debilitating feeling like I’m not good at my job because I’m learning. I don’t know if I feel like I’m not an account person because I’m making so many mistakes or if I’m just really not an account person. Feeling lost and helpless here.
I’m not in account, but that is what this role is for. An AE is still a junior level role - you are meant to be learning. As long as you are learning from your mistakes (which you seem to be doing) - you are doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing. Nobody knows what they’re doing anyway, you’re just more aware of the “rights” and “wrongs”. Which will help you in the long run!
I’ve been in accounts for over 10 years and I still don’t know if I belong here. Don’t worry, mistakes happen period, but they decrease with exp. As many here said, you’re in a great position bc you’re expected to learn and absorb things like a sponge, not be perfect. Enjoy these days—they were my favorite during my entire career.
