Hello Deloitte 🐠 20 YOE. Have referral for a content and marketing M role in cybersecurity -- the focus of my career pivot. Submitted my application today, but my referrer isn't in Cyber. Interested to widen my Deloitte Cyber network to get my resume in front of a human, since ATS has no vision or imagination. If you're willing to connect, please DM. So far, made it several interview rounds into roles with EY and Accenture. Optimistic, but want to be as proactive as possible. Thanks!

They never gave much explanation or anything. I was badly underhired as an analyst
Feel this, seem to be jumping to another firm is the only option.
YOE in Cyber?
Um...depends on how you want to define pure cyber versus IT with a security component.
Let's say to be fair 8 years, but I was doing PCI DSS stuff part time on contract for 11 years.
I don't feel like posting my whole resume.
Let me put it this way: when I started half the stuff that infected office computers came on a burned cd from Kazaa or lime wire.
I also was all over the initial wifi security hack in the early 2000s.
It's been in my blood my whole life but professionally we can say 8 to 10 years.
I mean if your comp is in line with your expectations, I would consider the potential benefits. Analysts get fired a lot less than VP’s.
If you do your cost benefit, and you don’t like your situation. Get another offer and leverage or bounce.
Well if that’s the case you need to find a new job with more money. And fast. That should be your new priority, like even if your work needs to slip at your current analyst role. Focus on selling yourself at a manager level. Reorg your whole hiring approach. New resume, new elevator pitch, new salary target (about 30-40% higher than your current target at least). Should take about 2 months if you do it right.
Good luck. And since this is really a vent post, I get it sucks. I provide advice because it’s only on you to fix your employers mistakes.
