I got a lot done today, most of it was from last week but it felt nice to get some progress in things! Now I have to sit and wait on change controls… anyone else find that they can’t get ahead on work because there are built in walls?

It feels like a waste of time but at least I get to take a little break

There are times when something similar trips me up. I'll think I'm ahead on something, but I have to have someone else check off on it. It often turns into hurry up and wait. I'll think I'm finally making progress but nope, not so fast.

Yes, and it's the bane of my (work) existence. I hate not being able to work ahead. My motivation ebbs and flows like crazy. It drives me nuts when I can't take advantage of one of my productive periods because of organizational red tape.

Recruiter for big tech company reached out on LinkedIn about a role. I asked about ballpark compensation numbers and they said they’re only comfortable sharing on a live call. Replied that I often receive LinkedIn offers for roles of paycuts around 30-50% so I want to make sure we’re in the same rough range. Recruiter again said she would only share via live call. Is this a red flag?

Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

What do you think?

I cleared technical round and during final call with HR, my salary expectations were higher as per HR.

My current CTC is 9lpa, skill-IAM and Java, YOE-3. I asked for 14lpa, best they could give was 11lpa. I know I asked a lot.

She didn't care to negotiate and cut my call and now they put my candidature on hold. Can I expect call back? Or i can consider myself rejected?
