Pain
I came from PwC awm and am now doing PE at Deloitte. It is 1,000 xxxx better. Culture is so much better and people actually care about you as a person. Partners are more accessible as well.
Do I know you? Lol

Yeah it was an absolute sweat shop. Culture is toxic and backstabby. Good luck
I’m a manager in NY as well, and I really don’t see that. Though I only do federal, I can’t say the same about SALT.
Yah Tax is no good. The alternatives side is a K1 sweatshop pretty much all year round where your churnin and burnin. The technical training used to be good at the lower levels but for the past few years it has deviated to more of learning automation tools to maintain efficiency and increase engagement margin. Not that there is anything wrong with that but from a career growth perspective imo it doesn’t provide you with much benefit.
If your able I would take you chances in a consulting group like M&A or ITS. Your still gonna grind but the work is 1000x more interesting. Pay is not that great as well compared to the specialty groups.
Sorry, the number of trainings that the AWM team gives from October through February is absurd. If you think they don’t do a good job, you aren’t paying attention to them. TaxSource has all the replays and decks as well.
I’m in HF tax at Deloitte. The hours are not as bad as PwC AWM… off season it’s pretty much less than 40 CSH. Busy season 60-70 hours. Not as bad as 100 hours at PwC …
Plus team is very supportive and accommodating to your needs. I’ve had a good experience so far.
Also the clients are high profile here as well🤷♀️
I work with some people that came over from PWC's RE group. Complete backstabbing jerks that think they know everything. STAY AWAY!!!!

Tax? Toxic.
very toxic. lol. stay away.
Just think about why turn over is very high there. It is called K-1 factory and hrs are horrible. If you really want WLB, I would not accept it :)
I’m at KPMG AM. Compared to what I hear from friends at pwc/D WLB is better.
I agree with allllllll the toxic comments... Just run... Don't do it
BIGGEST REGRET!!!
PLSSSSSSSSS RUN!
IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!
Do not accept
Would you guys say it’s the worse out of all the big 4? I got offers from all of them but, people are telling me to go to PwC because it’s best for my career in terms of money and exposure.
pay is crap. stay away.
Well, clearly there are a few that say that PwC AWM is toxic. I can’t deny anybody’s experience. I do want to note that PwC AWM (at least in NY) is made up of three separate groups (IM, RE, and SALT). Your mileage will vary in all three groups.
They all suck
I’m in AWM audit. It’s highly dependent on what clients you get put on. I’ve had some really good experiences and some really poor experiences so far, really just comes down to luck of the draw with what team you get.
