Not everything on this app needs to be soon and gloom about the profession - things are pretty good here
I love being out, and being compensated well.
I hate people thanking me for my service and constantly asking me if I was deployed.
People really have a weird burning desire to hear a good war story. Lol.
Still would rather be paid less 🤷♂️
I've been out for 30 years. I pay more in taxes annually than I was paid as a NCO when I was in. I didnt start missing it until I started hanging it with the current crop of kids from the same organization.
What about fracturing in your commanding officers BAH adjusted for gross income to compare against yours? I know if your a married E-5 with 6 years in stationed in NYC you get your base pay $34,249 + BAS $4,249($369x12/.66) + BAH $61,604 (40,329/.66) = $100,102. That's only for an 0-5 in NYC gets 92k gross just for housing. I used 66% I figured 33% a good tax rate lol
How?
