I work at MediaMonks currently (they don’t have this tho) but it’s an amazing company with definitely room for growth. If you’re a PM and want to produce they’ll let you move. Definitely apply, it’s the best place I’ve ever worked!
Wow. Do you know who’s head of production?
Go for it! I’m in the same boat. A recession is basically looming, worry about finding something you match with first, shift back to your preferences later. I have the same or more experience as you and the market is hard right now.
Thanks! I actually have a job right now, as a Senior Producer at digital agency, though the job is probably 50% PM / 50% production with no opportunities for growth.
Mediamonks seems to have a lot of senior producer openings lately so another could pop up soon, if you didn’t want the PM role.
Well, turns out a senior producer position popped up indeed, I’m interviewing Monday. Wish me luck!
Be wary of just how different agency production is from prodco production. You’ll be fine, but it’s a lot more actual work of interfacing with developers and creatives, which requires a different tact.
All my experience is in digital.
I think it’s great if you get it because it’ll make you more versatile working out of agencies. And maybe there will be opportunity to transition to production with them. Try to make the experience work for you since you know what you want.
