Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
Any McKinsey digital folks here?

Extremely complex question, and the answer will vary based on the specific team.
Some teams seem to be 90%+ former MBB so I assume it’s much harder to get it be door without it (e.g., Google BizOps, FB equivalent)
Some teams seem like a mix of all consulting firms; though admittedly still more heavily towards MBB (e.g., YT, Google cloud S&O, Android S&O)
Some teams seem like a mix of professional services and industry backgrounds (e.g., CorpDev, Finance teams, product operations roles).
I think the order of “ease of entry” for you is probably the reverse of the above, but I’d reach out to folks on those teams to be sure (you never know when a team will decide they need new types of skills)
I’d also do a search on here and [levels.fyi] for threads that are more detailed
Good luck!
