Any reason why data science? Product analytics or marketing analytics may be a better fit. It'll be hard to hop to data science, especially at a leadership level, without modeling experience.
I believe data science/big data analytics combining with AI will be the future. Hence would like to stay on top of the current industry trend. Do you think data science boot camp or masters in data science would help?
Too me you have the hard components down. You can probably get certified quickly to engross yourself in what it will be like in a few weeks. You’ll probably sell yourself better after that
I agree with the commenter before me. It seems you've bagged the skills anyway. I think you can tailor your resume to reflect that using terms that align with data science for your application then expound on how you'll adjust well upon onboarding since you already have your foundation set during the job interview.
I’m glad you asked how, I lead a DS team.
You have the foundation, now you need to learn both data strategy and modeling, I don’t mean you need to learn how to write code to run a multivariate regression model in Python or R, I mean you need to understand when to direct a data scientist to run one. See your business domain knowledge is the most valuable part, most data scientists don’t have that and the one’s that do don’t often end up in advertising on the ad agency side. The when to run a model, what to input in it as far as just variables go, what the model needs to achieve.. these are the things that are most valuable. The coding element is the first leg to get solved for by AGI anyway. Good luck, we need people like you to go this route. Lots to read up on, go with books like the Model Thinker, fantastic read that you can go through section by section.
