Planning to give notice soon. Transferred Amex ; utilized well being and tech subsidy; sent w2 over; photos on google photos; documents on google doc. Any other must dos I might be missing?
What was your utilization for this year and what area of fraud/forensics are you in? Mine was 73% in eDiscovery.
Never have I been able to charge more than 40 hrs on any project I have done (though I was expected to work more). Every day of bench and pto hurts my utilization 😭
The higher up I get at PwC the more I see wayyyyy too many cooks in the kitchen. Everyone is trying to add value lol it’s laughable. There’s a few partners a few directors a few managers maybe one senior manager who is low on utilization and is being called the “project manager” lol anyone else see the same?
Is it better to be underworked or overworked? In the underworked scenario, assume utilization is not a factor and that you are billable, just not actually working very much/hard.
Just received an offer to come in as an exp. manager in the SDV group at Deloitte Can anyone comment on -
- likely travel requirements in a post-COVID world (I live in Chicago)
- typical bonus expectations (low, mid, high)
- prospects to get promoted to an SM within 12-18 months
- pay expectations as an SM
- utilization expectations
What is the exact date on which utilization tracking for FY2018 started? I know it's March sometime. When does it end?
Thoughts on jumping to a boutique that’s more utilization driven pay (bigger bonus at end of year) with our current economy?
Looking at the way people are laid off, utilization is just one part of it. It's so hard to pin point what is (proper consultants let go from projects, etc..)
Bain 🐠: what components/criteria are Consultants graded on at year-end? Also, is “utilization” one of the components? If yes, what is the target?
How many consultants (perhaps at M/SM level) exited to big tech, and finds the scope of work is super insignificant & your consulting/management experience under utilized?
I just found out that people bill more than 8 hours in a day to help with utilization (ie. submitting 8.5 or 9 hours as a standard day). Is this common practice?
I just started as a Consultant about 3 weeks ago and I’ve been having difficulty finding a project that utilizes my skill set. What can I if my company is having difficulty staffing me on a project? I feel bad that I’m not being utilized
Would you be honest or just put something like work life balance. I have worked with really shitty people. It would be several. Like base compensation, skills not fully utilized, firm culture, communication issues, etc

I started at a new firm a few months ago. Soon after I accepted the offer, my mom got some really bad health news (incurable cancer). Since then, I moved to the city where my parents live and have continued to work for the firm remotely. I like the new firm but it wasn’t the best time to start a new job. I’ve had trouble focusing and my performance has suffered quite a bit. Any advice?
I have been an on-call coordinator with a large healthcare company for the past 8 years. I am on call 96 hours each week. During those 96 hours, I am required to always have cell and internet, answer calls on first ring if possible (within 15 minutes if missed), and log calls in real time. Before taxes, I make $700 a week. Am I being paid properly?
Why would a partner ask me (a midlevel) instead of a junior to send out signature pages over the weekend? I don’t quite understand the logic - anyone have any ideas as to what this partner was thinking?

My friend from Stanford GSB is launching Launch Club: a startup course and a community for people seriously considering pivoting into entrepreneurship.
He's interviewing people to better understand their needs and will give a 15% discount on the course for those who participate in the interview.
You can also use that time to get feedback on your idea/space. He is super well-connected with top VCs and CEOs in Silicon Valley.

Unpopular opinion. I feel majority of cyber security senior managers and Directors in big 4 are incompetent. I have seen managers and seniors not understanding how web services work at all, or difference between encryption and hashing.

Working on proposal for the first time. How do I calculate "company size" to mention other clients as examples on the RFP. Is it total revenue, net income, total assets?
Serious question: I’ve worked in MBB, Big 4 and tier 2, and the number one reason I’ve heard for younger (less than 5 YoE) talent leaving is that they are “not doing strategy work.” It’s also the top request from younger staffers to do on every engagement team I’ve led. The question: Are there any consulting firms really letting new talent do this? Or is this the top delusion of new MBAs entering the consulting world?
Is anyone familiar with Deloitte's alumni program? I'm leaving the firm for a year, but don't want to choose any doors that I might want open later.
