And it won’t change. Not unless they get rid of all of leadership and completely start anew. Toxicity comes from the people...

Good people quit their managers, not their jobs. Go where you can do your best work.

My current job is getting really toxic and I can’t tell if it will pass or not. A lot of sexism and bad leadership. But I still can’t help but feel it may get better

If your gut is telling you that you are unhappy and it is a toxic workplace, you deserve every bit to get yourself out of there. It’s not in your head and you are not imagining things. Many agencies unfortunately have toxic environments in my own experience. It’s something that you do not deserve and it can get better but you really need to remove yourself from that place! For your own mental health and sanity.

It will definitely not get better. Good luck and enjoy the new job!

I’m not sure what the risk with the new job is and it seems a little soon to say exactly how it’ll affect you. Maybe you won’t be as creatively fulfilled at your new job, but maybe you will feel more empowered and confident because you’ll have taken a step away from a toxic work environment?

Go be your best self today so that you get the job offer. Once you have all the details, you can way the pros and cons. That being said, it doesn’t sound like the current job is going to get better. Good luck!

It’s not going to get better. You’re merely having reservations b/c as a junior it’s all you’ve ever known. Get out of there. Good luck on the interview!

New job 💯. Toxic workplaces stay toxic until they eventually lose business.

Did you notice that no one is mentioning the pay? You should never leave a job or take a job solely based on pay. That said, you mentioned less stress as the second positive. While you can’t know if the new job has sexism, toxicity, and bad leadership, you should find out other things that are important to you (career growth, flexible work arrangements, benefits, client roster, market reputation, company trajectory, etc.) and weigh the pros and cons. Ultimately, if your current work environment is stressful, it is important for you to begin looking elsewhere.

Have been through a few rounds of interviews and feel like they have all been great. Last two have been with leaders of various practices and that was supposed to be the end. Now have been asked if I’ll do one more interview with someone in a different specialized practice, and if im interested in that space. Should I take this as a good sign I’ll be offered and they’re trying to place me, or am I being placed on hold while they run down a list of those they liked more and awaiting accepts?

I’m job hunting for Software Engineer roles in the Toronto, Canada area. For context, I graduated in April 2020 when Covid became the worlds problem and many were let go. I didn’t want to stay unemployed so took a role as a PM. I’ve recently revamped my portfolio and am ready to start applying for roles again. Any software engineers have any tips for me as I embark on this journey? Thanks in advance!

M at T2 (think OW, S&), with offer to join retail corp as SM with 15% paycut. Corp is a bit better positioned vs retail industry challenges but not immune. Have gotten some mixed reviews of new corp (including bad WLB) and worried about taking a cut for this. Thoughts?
