I have a super stable and chill job at a non-Google FANG. Is it worth jumping to Google for a bit more cash and potentially less exciting work? Because it’s Google? Counsel role.

Are you happy? If so, feels like a non-starter based on these facts. Would — hands down — not trade uncertainty in emotional stability for a slight increase in money.

Yeah I am. Just also Google and could be cool

What’s your practice area?

Unless you’re at meta I would think the work at google would be more interesting

I would switch. Just be sure to nominate me as your replacement

You don't sound terribly convinced. I'd stay where you are tbh.

My book is just spec and side projects. I’m trying to get a new junior-to-mid role because I’ve gotten nothing good produced where I’m at, and I have zero faith this will change if I stick around.

I’m asked for work samples from recruiters and CDs even though I make clear that what I’ve done doesn’t reflect who I am as a creative. Think CRM/DM/B2B stuff. They insist on it, and I never hear back afterwards.

Not sure what to do. Almost feel like I’d be better off erasing my agency experience.

Anyone work somewhere that could use an exceptional sysadmin, and that understands people aren't their past mistakes. Stuck back on helpdesk & want back to sysadmin

Very brief background - I’m a senior associate who has been on one complex commercial litigation case for over a year. Over time, the relationships between attorneys on the case have deteriorated to the point that it is affecting my productivity/work. I want out.

Need a sanity check here.

When I joined my current company, we were on a quarterly bonus structure with guaranteed payouts each quarter. This was, in fact, how the recruiter said he could meet my salary request.

The company just announced we are moving to annual payouts only, with no payments for 2023 until May 2024. There are no raises happening.

This amounts to 12% less money in my pocket in 2023 plus inflation.

Is this standard, or should I be looking for opportunities elsewhere?
