I have an degree in administration and will be graduating with a degree in marketing this May. I am have some trouble trying to get an internship or an "entry level" job but they both require a certain amount of years of experience. I've checked on Indeed and Linkedln but Ive had no luck. I have experience in the non-profit industry as a guest service manager and some experience with payroll from a small business. Any advice on what I can do to stand out and get an interview? Thanks.

I have young kids, and these last few years of remote work and flexibility have really been crucial in helping manage it all. Has anyone else made this transition back to full time in office and do you regret it?

I recently joined Swiss Re at 30lpa, pretty good manager and work culture. Got a hike of 10% in 3 months without me asking for it. But got an offer from another company which I was interviewing for before joining here and they are offering a base of 45lpa. Now I am unsure how I convey this to my manager coz I want to stay here but at the same time I am salivating over this new offer and wish I get similar numbers here. Is it worth raising a discussion? If yes what would be a subtle way to do so?

Hiring managers: How is the interview process like at your company and how much say do you have when it comes to choosing that candidate?

I had a behavioral interview with a manager from another team and a case study with the hiring manager. They both took notes as I gave my answers but the first manager was very disinterested from the get go and was distracted as he kept looking away from the screen.

How early in advance do you start preparing for a deposition that you are conducting? One month? One week? The night before?

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that? Study LinkedIn. Look at people who are where you want to be tomorrow. Check their profile. Go through many more of such. Then wisely navigate through the best approaches used and implement the same.
