If it’s risk assurance, run far and fast. It falls under IT Advisory at EY and is actually audit work.
^^ first get that info. Ask them specifically what part of IT advisory you will be part of.
I wud stay away from risk if i have any technical experience
I respect your opinion but i want to make the post of this interview just to get an idea of where I stand..
Absolutely, OP. That’s a valid redirect to the original question 😊 few thoughts:
- If it gets too technical, I’d be honest about it if you don’t know an answer.
- Bring a lot of questions and see how the conversation goes to plug them in when you can.
- Learn more about the role, if you can show how you can bring your skills to succeed in it in this conversation, that’ll be pretty solid.
Would i be expected to write lines of code? They are planning to get me in as a senior 1. I have done some basic coding as a part of my job like VBA/SQL etc but i dont have a technical education background.
IT advisory has many practices in it which practice are you interviewing for
Probably something related to Risk.. I honestly dont have this info yet.. i am guessing based on my background
Its been hard to get hold of them. I got to know about it today and the interview is tmr 😕
You can use the skype interview as an opportunity to ask these pointed questions.
If you got an interview, the only technical expertise expected is what you told them. Make sure you can truly speak to your resume
OP, I'm in ITA Risk. This is NOT risk assurance. We do tech consulting in the financial risk sector. Lots of tech transformation projects related to market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk (a lot of which are driven by regulations - ccar, frtb, secl, etc). We have two groups: AI - which is more technical where many of us can code (VBA, Python, SQL are quite useful). TRaC - is more business focused - requirements, testing, governance etc. I don't think you'll be writing lines of VBA code in the interview, but you need to know the tech concepts, maybe pseudo code.
