FAKE NEWS!!
EY is the new Deloitte!
And laid off 66K
Our overall worldwide employee headcount is 165K. You saying we hired more than a third of our workforce this year? If you troll, please use moderately believable statements
Dear brand new EY hire. STFU
Less selective than McDonalds
Harvards applicant populace self selects out of their applicant pool because they believe its too hard to get into that scholl....nobody self selects out of the big 4
💪💪
Yep definitely a new hire. Anyone who's been at the firm long enough knows that's it's a shitshow all round, and these numbers are merely a way to entice more gullible newbies into this ditch.
The numbers OP posted are correct. I read them recently on the intranet in the financial year end summary note by Mark Weinberger
Good going, OP...
Does it count the people that apply for 20 positions as one or 20? My guess is 20. Deloitte says the same crap. The difference is if you got into Harvard you're probably not working at Deloitte or EY.
The thing is - about all Big4 consulting - is that 99% of the world doesn't know what we do, or if they do, thinks "no way would I ever be able to get a job there" because of the auditing prestige. Wasn't on my radar until I was a contractor for PwC, knew 2 people from a previous job at Deloitte. So while EY2 and D2 are correct, I also think the number of shit applicants is less than the "xyz office in Scranton" gets because of that lack of awareness and/or lofty prestige as viewed by the average working stiff.
MBB is even worse in that regard. You might as well be Prince of Wales if you work there. People MIGHT have HEARD of McKinsey, or might "know" the name Bain from Romney.
OP, I apologize. I just read Weinberger's article and you are spot on ... this is exactly what he said. My bad.
EY is a shit show in the US. Please don't screw your careers by going there
One has to presume the 2m is not individual applicants, but each application to a specific position. EY loves all the happy feelies no matter how fake.
Total firm population is ~250k. Also, I assume this includes everyone that drops their resume off in the bin at a career fair and I'm not sure how it counts people who decline a role before a formal offer.

Weinberger article in the Daily News from last week. I assume most people have it go directly to the round filing cabinet.
