I have for the most part worked in financial services and also have some experience in direct investing roles. I have a bachelors in Computer Engineering (though never worked in a core tech field since graduation) and 5+ YoE (Financial Risk Advisory, Investment Associate and Valuations). I am intrigued to explore product management and to make a shift in a startup / growing tech company - is this something that is possible? Open to any advice and guidance. Thanks.

I’m a new CSM (9 months) and I work at a company that doesn’t invest much in its CSM team. I’ve been struggling because as time goes on I feel more and more like a token hire. We have no play book/structure, no CSM tool and I’m current organizing all 95 of my clients on spreadsheets while also handling presales trials with a salary under 50k.

Long story short: I’m searching for mentorship or to be pointed in the direction of a good course so I can help the clients I do have while I’m here

Let's say I can't get a product or marketing job in tech, but I could get in via sales or customer success. Does working in those roles pigeonhole you, or is it easy to switch later? If you take a job as a customer success mgr for ads, or as a partnership mgr for learning solutions for industry X, are you going to get stuck in those products (ads, learning solutions), roles (CS, sales/partnerships), or target industry (X)?

Has anyone completed the Google PM certification? If so, did you find it to be beneficial to your PM career path?
I’m looking to pivot from Finance to Proj Mgmt and currently working through the Google course in order to sit for the CAPM. My only PM experience comes from stepping in on accounts I manage, where there is no PM presence. That means, most of those tasks were related to the budget and scoping, not necessarily execution. Is this enough to land a PM role?
