Anyone here tryna go into impact investing?
Just got a job at Deloitte M&A in Atlanta and am currently looking to buy a house. Would you advise I buy closer to Atlanta or the suburbs? I personally want to be in the suburbs but I hear the traffic situation is quite bad. Current consultants in Atlanta, how much time do you actually spend in the office vs remote vs client site? Would you advise I try and stay closer to the office?

I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

I pay about 2K a month for daycare and afterschool. It is PAINFUL! These kids need to get a job. (Kidding y'all)
I hadn't even thought about after school care yet 😭. I thought I was in the clear once school starts
Not in NYC, but daycare is $1700/month for us. Our mortgage is $1400. LOL
I love my kid, but I really hope I strike the balance of financial education and responsibility without passing on any financial anxiety
I've said it before and I'll say it again: We need government subsidies for childcare! The costs are outrageous right now and it's not like I don't think my kid is worth it lol but I want to be able to save for his college fund and right now it doesn't even seem possible!!
I feel you. Holes in my shoes (metaphorically) so college fund gets fed
Ours goes up every year and there is a registration fee. 2 years needs to pass quickly.
It gets better once full time daycare is done… somewhat.
Last night I wrote $600 worth of checks for two months of after school clubs for my two kids. That will come with at least another $20/day of additional after school care fees because the clubs only go until 3:30 at the latest. Then I have a separate, expensive-but-worth-every-penny children’s center for all half days, teacher conference days, etc. Of which there are at least 5 in that same two month period.
And I choose to send my kids to private school so there’s another $1500/month in tuition on top of that.
But when they were very small I was paying $4K/month for a full time nanny… so it feels a lot better!
