Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

If you want to stay in consulting, ZS will probably provide a more comfortable culture and growth in pay. If you exit into life sciences, that will also be comfortable.
However, if you want to transition out to another industry, Deloitte may be a better name.
I’m not sure now 😅 but if it helps, the group sits in Business Operations and focuses on process excellence

Deloitte, given the career growth it provides (partnership by 40s and potential 7 figure salary). Our Lifescienes practice is one of the top earning, so much opportunity. I recommend D because I don’t even know what ZS is. But know you will work your a$$ off in Consulting, in industry you can have more wlb if you don’t like to push yourself, without an up or out culture.
APs at ZS do not have equity; you buy in at P. However, APs do participate in profit-sharing in the same way as Ps who have equity (just without the stake in the firm, and obviously with a much smaller piece of the pie).
The fastest A -> P timing at ZS is roughly 11 years, which would put you at P at 33... that’s pretty tough though. 34-36 is very achievable.
ZS. It’s seen to be more prestigious than Deloitte, and you could pivot into MBB.

To correct your example, Deloitte is more like a decently respected state school that everyone knows, whereas ZS is more like a highly respected and selective but more niche specialty college.
Nothing against state schools by the way, having done my undergrad at one myself.
If you want pharma/LS: take ZS
Otherwise: Deloitte
This is all accurate. I worked in many diff industries at Deloitte but focused on one by the time I left. When I was leaving I was interviewing / final rounding in three industries, none of which I worked in at Deloitte really ...I credit the name recognition of Deloitte brand & skills it brings w/ the general population (eg ppl screening you) that allowed me to pivot industries.
You can’t go wrong. But if you want to explore industries still you should choose Deloitte.

What’s the pay?
In my mind Deloitte has higher prestige (I’m ex-D so obviously bias)
However, being ex-D id say go to ZS.
However, being ex-HLS focused I’d say not ZS.
I was thinking you’d say that. FinServ is similar so that should be fine for me! 😊

What do you guys do at ZS btw? Like what kind of issues do you address?

On a more helpful note though, we do most of our work in life sciences, primarily in sales or marketing at the brand strategy level. However, we really touch all over for those clients - corporate strategy, M&A, operations, digital, etc. Rather than being experts of a specific type of work, we're experts in the industry (although sales and marketing are most common).
We also touch a bunch of other industries as well, but we are most thought of for pharma, where we are very well-known.
Deloitte is very competitive. When you look at the number of people that actually make partner it is very small. You could take the other job and then go over to Deloitte at a higher level if you wanted to go there. Also there are a lot of other high-paying options like Amazon Web services. I’ve worked at Deloitte and AWS, and I know how hard it is to get promoted and make it to the highest levels at Deloitte. I got a six-figure rays coming to AWS.
I never said it’s impossible, but even if you are an expert you are usually not brought in on the partner track
Having worked at D and ZS, go to Deloitte. You will gain more client experience at Deloitte and not get trapped working excel models all day. ZS is not a bad spot but really depends on what kind of experience you want to gain

Works at ZS, hasn’t opened excel in years. Sounds like a bitter ex employee who didn’t know how to find work they enjoyed
