Bud first don’t be depressed.. you spent 5 years and will spend another year in US. You can go to Canada or home country.. get a good job there! I know it sucks I know how it feels, am in different kind of pain right now.. But we gotta believe that work permit in US should not be the purpose of life.. people are happy and prosperous in other and home country as well. You must have worked hard for this but try to let it go!! Like your first crush in high school
Guys, if your PERM has not been filed yet and you have close to 1 year remaining, move out ASAP. You will definitely be screwed if you decide to stay.
If you have PPMD support, now is the time to use it. Escalate and tell them what you need.
op - if possible get out ASAP either to a firm or consultancy who can start the process immediately and possibly u might make it just in the nick of time. With D u will be screwed. I have seen this among my colleagues and at the end of the day they won’t support u. Else if you have good relationships with partner try to move to Canada and get things cleared . This would take anywhere from 6 months +
@SC1 is right. Move out of D ASAP. This is the reality of D screwing up people on Visa. I know at least half dozen people and myself got screwed by Daddy D with their reasonless shitty pauses. Now not enough time left and have to move back to home country.
All these half dozen people have been told by D that they will be terminated upon visa maxout.
Note - Due to pandemic, they are supporting very little Global mobility except moving to home country.
OP, FWIW you may be able to recapture time you spent out of the country. It’ll give you some breathing room.
I wouldn’t worry too much, Talent is maintaining a list of folks whose GC needs to be taken care of on priority basis (<18months left ). That being said, once your perm is approved, I140 can be done in 2 weeks. My perm took 8months, pwd, advertisement, Lca, and the actual perm included. And depending on what LOS you’re part of they will accommodate you working from your home country, possibly mobility program. Hopefully you’ll be fine, good luck!
That's the reason i left Deloitte with 4 years on my H1B. They have a lot of shenanigans, I had no reasons to put up with it

what stage you are in? if your pwd is approved then you should be comfortably complete your process in another 7 months or so
They must be having significant recapture time left. If not then wait for some time and eventually they will come back and say No.
This is happening for most of the cases..

I'm exactly on the same boat! Mine started in April 2019 as well but I have 1 year left on my first 3 years so I still have time. I was told that they will first work on folks like you who has limited time left on their h1bs. I am assuming you should be good (if D keeps it promises which is a big question mark)
I joined June 2018 and just got my GC I was really lucky on timing though I think
