Hi All!
I am currently a Senior Software Engineer(Backend) with 4 YOE. My current CTC is 21LPA (All Fixed) with additional Yearly bonus. I got a call from Google (Pune/Bangalore/ Remote) for Software Engineer - Backend. I have the following doubts but any insights are welcome -
1. Does the lower designation offered make any difference?
2. Kinda ambiguous, but what kind of hike or ballpark pay can I expect?
3. Any similar interviews experiences or focus areas I should prepare for?

Sure. Enjoy life. You deserved it. Congrats on getting the new job. Can you tell me where your new gig is? And what is your skills?
Probably time to buy a house
No debate, buy the house first. You’ll be much happier.

Obviously you can afford it.
It never “makes sense” from a FIRE perspective to drive anything other than a $500 beater until it breaks since cars are depreciating assets. Treat this as an expense not an asset; do YOU want it enough to take the hit?

Also D1, can you elaborate? Genuinely curious.

if all of your other expenses are covered and you have plenty left over, go for it and treat yourself.
That Corvette C8 though

Why not a RC F? It’ll have better resale
They definitely do not over a C8 or 718.
Why do you have so much cash?
No. My question was why? Losing out on gains

What about a house?
Sure enjoy your life. But I would personally buy a car that will hold value, like a Lexus GSF, it’s a Japanese muscle car that is relatively cheap to maintain compared to the rivals and they stopped production so it will retain its value
You can do it, you're ahead of where I was back when I turned 30 and I did it without regrets. The harder issue is getting allocations for some of these cars you listed. You will not find any C8 for $70k and 718s at that price will probably be only used cars; not many allocations for the 4cyl variants when the factory would rather pump out $100k+ GTS and GT4/Spyders. Forget Lexus suggestions; I've had a RC and it's just more of the same luxury yacht blandness. Nothing can substitute a proper sports car.
You’re totally right. It’s tough to find inventory right now. What type of car do you have or have owned?

I have 90k car in a 120 salary (wife also is at 200)
It’s still less than 15% of our net take home for both cars + insurance and gas

Go for it! Congrats.
