What is the TC for a partner at PWC?
I have a possible opportunity at Protiviti. Coming from big4 and wondering if Protiviti has fairly similar perks. I’ve read the 2022 benefits guide and it gave a oddly low PTO count of 16 days. Is this true and what about a holiday disconnect in the December time period? Are there any other hidden perks that are awesome? Already heard WLB is better and the culture, but I feel like I’ve gotta find that out first hand. Protiviti

I would suggest asking whoever in HR or recruiting you are comfortable around whether we’re eligible at all, and if so if it is prorated (although I’ve never heard of it not being prorated!). But you should also feel comfortable asking fellow associates. No one will look at you sideways for asking about the bonus, it’s literally part of your compensation and everyone else is just as curious and invested in it as you! If you don’t have an assigned mentor or anyone you’ve clicked with yet who you can go to, I would also suggest seeking that out as it’s great to know at least one person who wants to be in ur corner for this type of Q (and much more!). Hope this helps!
Tbh for 1st year, the biggest difference between firm payscales is in Bar Stipends/moving fees. Some firms give full 15k stipends for the Bar and up to 8k for moving. Others are cheaper and just direct pay (or worse give you a salary advance) and give only around 3k max for moving. Swag doesn't make up for the difference. Bonuses matter more year 3+.
Google “[Your Firm’s Name] abovethelaw bonus 2020” and you should be able to find an article on your firm’s bonuses from last year, which may also include the actual bonus memo from the firm on the second page. This will also give you a sense of timing for when your firm generally announces bonuses and when they are paid. Also, as others mentioned, it is definitely appropriate for you to ask another associate about this (e.g., your associate mentor if you have one, someone on the associates’ committee, or even just an associate you like or work with).

I’ll take your iPad if you don’t want it.

Hey bud no one on here can tell you when your bonus is gonna get paid - ask another associate or look on your intranet. Scared money don’t get money
Thanks for your awesome response. So glad you are not one of the associates I skipped over to ask on here.

Cravath already dropped. Since you’re at a V20, 97% likely they’ll match.
No guarantees. OP is a stub year
Also a first year. Our billable cycle is October 1-September 30 so we won’t see any bonus until December 2022. And even then it will be prorated since we started after October 1.
Whaaaat. I feel like big firm life right now is all kinds of off — that truly why some people get screamed at for having one space instead of two on the last page of the document. It’s their ✨✨ therapy ✨✨ the bonuses are back pay on all those hours of uncontrolled emotion.
