I have both. CPA is slightly tougher but neither are very tough.

Depends on your background and experience

Completely different tests and not comparable. I found the cpa to be harder because I had more experience in security and information systems.

Any advice for a judicial law clerk who is starting law career in ID this fall?

I am looking to enter big law. I had a clerkship on a state Business Calendar and am a current first year litigation associate where I have prepared for a trial, taken and defended depositions, and have extensive motion writing practice in tech, business, and employment cases. Is it a waste of time to try and make a move to big law with such few years of experience?

Would love any thoughts. I’m almost 6yrs in Accenture as a Management Consulting manager, worked in the telecom industry for the last few years and have mainly focused on CX/business process improvement. I’ve found lately that when I look at those managers above me/the execs we report to, I don’t necessarily envision myself wanting their jobs. I can’t tell if it’s the hours, the client bootlicking we end up doing, or just the need to try something new - but I’m not loving the idea of staying.

Anyone here work in litigation for a few years after law school, and then leave to clerk for a federal judge for 2 years? If so, did you have any difficulty finding a job at a law firm for after the clerkship is over / did this set back your career progression law firm-wise at all?

I am a 7 year litigation associate and so burnt out on it. I want to transition to in house, but have applying and not getting traction. My experience is mostly insurance defense/coverage, and most of the positions out there seem to be for tech or transactional work. I also come from smaller firms and a smaller school, so no big names behind me. All the recruiters I’ve talked to will only peg me as an insurance defense associate and won’t send me anything else. How do I get out of litigation?

Hey guys,
I’m not really happy where I work. I have an MBA with over 6 years of experience in banking, capital markets, consulting and currently in a manager role. Looking for some advice from you financial advisor types. I’m finding myself in a temporary financial crisis and need to get $30-50k in cash quickly. I have a 401k with a healthy balance and a Roth IRA - I’m not 59-1/2 so withdrawing based on that is out. I can’t take a loan from 401k because I do that every 2 years and can only have one outstanding at any given time - so ... any suggestions?

Howdy…I need a sanity check! As part of my previous role, I reported security non-compliance and gross security misrepresentations. For my valiant efforts I was laid off (despite being a protected whistleblower) and my reports were buried. Everything I did was in line with my responsibilities. I was extremely concerned that systems housing personal credit data on all US consumers were not adequately protected. I essentially risked my job to protect data and I’m not sure if it mattered.

Getting a little discouraged with the process at Google. I know it’s known to take a long time but I had final interview 2 weeks ago & they said wouldn’t be able to give a final answer because they still had a few more interviews to finish up… I feel like those who completed the interviews first would be at a disadvantage or at risk of being “forgotten” so to speak.. never been in a process that took this long so just wanted to hear from those who ended up getting the offer or work at Google

If traveling is reduced in future based on clients wanting to cut costs, would the big 4 model change in advisory and maybe consulting? For examples at Deloitte I know we have a lot of random smaller offices where it doesn’t matter as everyone travels. Would they consolidate offices and maybe have people aligned to offices and teams to work together and then travel as needed similar to GPS. I believe this is how audit works as well.

Technical Q: If an application doesn’t have a change log, how do you get C&A of the change list? From my experience you cannot use the ticketing tool as your population. Tried to check with the migration tool to see if that logs the changes that were migrated, but that also does not store every change. The goal is to obtain a population of changes so that we can test a change sample.

Need some insight 🙂 While my job still says KPMG, I moved to a small local firm as an S1 and was recently promoted to a supervisor (manager is about 1-2 years out). I’m in an awkward in between senior/manager spot.
