You can make a lot more money with a lot less effort. The down side is this is a total sales job. You have to sell the employer to use your services. You have to sell the candidate to the employer. You have to sell the candidate on taking an offer if there’s any reluctance. And if there is, you have to sell the employer on sweetening the offer. On top of all that, when there aren’t enough openings or good candidates you will not be earning no matter how good you are.
As a former Big 4 and/or CPA, you can supposedly screen candidates better than other recruiters.
If you know the business and what actually happens at/in Big4 you can really sell and match the candidates. I went into recruiting for a short while and was better at knowing their experience and how to match. But having to rely on a paycheck based on how other people felt just wasn’t for me. They can make great money but it’s more of a gamble
How long did you do recruiting ? You didn’t have any issues going back to Accounting after that ? We can chat over DM if you prefer
Good money I guess? I got my current job through a recruiter and the commission is over 30k.
I have no idea how much they earn each year on average, this is a good insight !
If you’re good, it’s more money. There are still pros and cons to the job, but they people I’ve seen switch to it seem very happy and fulfilled.
