I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

And now.. let me take a selfie!

Hi all
Few months back, I accepted @pwc india's offer but didn't join.
Now I was referred for @pwc US but as I was applying for the job, the portal shows previous application with status as offer accepted.
Will pwc consider me again?
Does anyone have any idea on this?
Has someone accepted the offer but didn't join and later joined again after some months?
Please let me know
Any inputs will be helpful
Thanks!

Can you ask your resident Client Finance manager (or AP or CFO or Finance Director, etc) about their path and their pov on transferable skills? Perhaps you could start by getting permission to formally shadow your colleagues to get more of an idea of what you think may help you?
Great idea!
I think it wouldn’t be too hard of a transition if you’re already dealing with estimates, invoices, closing jobs, etc. Not sure going back to school would be worth it financially, though. Might be better to see if you can move within your agency or with a new one. Also not sure how much they make but assume you might have to go backwards in pay as you start over in a new career path. Overall, I think BA might pay more than finance until you get to a fairly high level. Just thinking about the supply and demand for BA folks vs finance folks right now. BA is in high demand now and there’s a shortage of seasoned people out there.
Well, salary and student loan debt. But yeah, if you’re not happy with BA then that’s secondary.
